How it works

cutOR is built for rehearsal, not tissue simulation. Every step plays out the way a procedure is actually organized: instrument, location, action, result.

Pick up the right instrument

Each step calls for a specific tool from the Mayo stand — scalpel, tenotomy scissors, Adson-Brown forceps, Senn retractor, sagittal saw, wire driver, rongeur, or needle driver.

Perform the step at the cue

Visual cues mark exactly where to work on the limb. Trace the incision line, hold the retractor, drive the wire — the app recognizes the gesture in place.

See the result, move on

The outcome appears on the limb — incision, exposure, osteotomy, fixation, closure — and persists as you advance, so the field builds up the way a real case does.

Built like an OR

The environment and workflow mirror the room you actually operate in.

Full operating room

Operating table, overhead lighting, back table, equipment boom, tourniquet unit, mini C-arm, and arthroscopy tower — arranged for the operative side.

Movable Mayo stand

Position the instrument tray wherever you need it. Instruments dock to the tray, ride along when you move it, and snap back when you set them down.

Natural interaction

Grab instruments with controllers or hand tracking. Two-handed steps — like periosteal elevation with blade and forceps — require both hands, just like the real thing.

Guided, at your pace

A guidance panel names each step and instrument, cues mark the working location, and a clear visual confirms each completed step before you advance.

cutOR is in active development. Procedure content is authored as an educational scaffold and is undergoing review by a practicing podiatric surgeon before release.

cutOR is a rehearsal and education tool. It is not a medical device, does not provide clinical instruction, and is not a substitute for surgical training or credentialing.
